Product Description

If your 2015 or newer MetroPCS phone is one of the following, then your phone requires the pre-installed MetroPCS Device Unlock app located in your METROPCS applications and security folder. (See Connectivity Requirements Below)

It is extremely important that you go through this entire process before you order.

        – 1:  First, we’re going to make sure your connection will allow a successful unlock.
        – 2:  Open the “device unlock” application (Found in Applications or Security)
        – 3:  Continue, and Click Permanent Unlock.
        – NOTE:  If your response is “server not responding” then you need to try later, or connect to an alternate internet service. For best results, use your home Wi-Fi so that you’re absolutely certain a firewall or other login is not preventing the connection.The reason why we ask you to check this before ordering is that a small percentage of people have never been able to get the “server not responding” notice to go away.  We have some troubleshooting tips that may help.
        – 4: If the response is “INELIGIBLE” then YES, you can order this unlock service.
        – NOTE:  You are not required to order our service. You may want to try to contact MetroPCS first to see if they will unlock your device for free.
        – If you order our Unlock Service, then within 1 or 2 business days, your Order Status will be marked as “Completed” and you should then be “ELIGIBLE.”
        – 5:  Once you receive our Order Completed notice, you will go through the above process again and Click Permanent Unlock.
        – 6:  Your IMEI should now show up as “Eligible” for unlock.  
        – NOTE: If you successfully connect and it still shows an Ineligible, then wait a couple of hours and try again.  Sometimes the servers take a while to update.
        – Continue, and the MetroPCS Device Unlock App will finish the process within a few moments.
        – Congratulations! Your phone is unlocked and for use with any GSM compatible phone service carrier!

Remember, for Internet Data and Multimedia SMS Text Messages, you will want to change those settings based on APN/MMS settings provided by your new carrier.  This is not related to the unlock, but we get asked all the time. Please note that the Wi-Fi Calling found on some MetroPCS phones is exclusive to MetroPCS, and will need to be disabled, as the Wi-Fi calling is not compatible with any other carrier and is completely unrelated to the SIM Network Unlock.

MetroPCS Device Unlock APP  is an Android app that allows you to request and apply a MetroPCS mobile device unlock directly from the device. The features of this app include the ability to remotely request Mobile Device Unlock without having to contact Customer Care and automatically apply the Mobile Device Unlock to the device without the use of a manual code.

All you need is an Android device that supports the Mobile Device Unlock app:

Once the unlock request is processed, customer needs to:

  1. Make sure you have an active data connection via 3G/4G/LTE or Wi-Fi.
  2. From the Application list, tap Device Unlock. (Note: The application may be located in the MetroPCS folder.)
  3. Tap Continue.
  4. Choose the Permanent Unlock type:
  5. If successful, restart the device to apply the settings.

Reminder: Always get the IMEI from *#06# on the phone. Never take the IMEI from the phone sticker or from the box.

It's mandatory with "MetroPCS Device Unlock App" Service to check BEFORE place your order that your phone show "Not Eligible for Unlock" error.
If instead you have the error "Server not responding" this mean your phone is not even able to communicate with MetroPCS Server (Communication Error)

You need to fix this problem before order since we do not accept complaint / refund request about this specific error.
However we do have some tips to get rid of this error:

1 - Make sure you use the original Stock ROM from MetroPCS since it will not work if you flash your phone with any custom Firmware from T-Mobile, CyanogenMod, or even an Unbranded ROM.
2 - However make sure you're using the last version of MetroPCS Firmware for your Cell Phone.
3 - Finally (after upgrade) perform a Hard Reset on your Cell Phone (you'll find Hard Reset method on:http://www.hardreset.info or check on YouTube).
4 - Turn off 3G/LTE and force the use of a local WiFi Hotspot.
5 - Make sure you use home Wifi (and not a public/company WiFi since they might use firewall, vpn, etc... that will trouble communication)

If none of these recommendations work for you, then we don't have solution.

    1. Go to Google play store and install the “Device Unlock” app from T-Mobile.
